We reported recently that McLaren was working on an even crazier version of the MP4-12C, and now we know that this isn't the only hotter car McLaren is planning.. Like all of McLaren's current and planned cars, this new one is based on the 12C's carbon fiber tub and 3.8L V8, and it will be called P15.

The car is "quite a way off" but we do know that it will use a seriously tuned version of the 12C's turbo V8. The engine will probably be related to the P1's (shown), but without the hybridization.

McLaren's chairman, Ron Dennis, has said that McLaren plans to release “something of substance” every year. The hotter 12C should arrive some time this year. A P1 successor is also something that will happen, but only once technology has advanced enough that the new car could be drastically faster than the P1.
