Regardless, Matt Van Vliet recognized that he and his bride to be met in police custody after a college party was broken up for underage drinking, and so he planned a proposal with the police when the couple was visiting their alma for a reunion. They were pulled over, the chief said he was under arrest, and then, in police custody, he proposed to her.
Luckily, she accepted, since the chief said the plan was to take him away if she didn't.
