After fighting the system for a while, Janice Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele finally has the right to include her entire last name on her driver's license. The struggle began in May 2013 when Janice wrote a letter to her councilwoman Brenda Ford and Mayor Kenoi. She claimed that she was being bullied and that the Department of Transportation was "disrespecting her husband's heritage" by forcing her to shorten the name. Not only did she get what she wanted, but she got the state to change their policy, raising the character limit from 35 to 40.
