For the 10 of you who think next year is definitely The Year for the Jets, here's something that should strengthen your hopes: Rex Ryan is probably coming back. Two sources—one executive and another who's "well-connected"—confirmed to ESPN the organization has changed his mind from leaning toward firing him.

The Jets will be out of the playoffs again, but there's been slight—very slight—improvement. New York has won seven games this year despite Geno Smith's shoddy play and generally low expectations. It may also have more wins than the Giants this season, so there's that. Ryan is 41-38 in his time with the Jets, but again, they will miss the playoffs for the third straight season. It's not certain if the organization will sign him for an extension, however, so it's not a complete "WTF Jets?" moment.
