Nate Robinson Fined $25,000 for Saying That He Thinks the NBA's Referees Hate Him

His accountant is going to hate him, too.

Nate Robinson is a scrappy, passionate, in-your-face kind of player. He wears his heart on his sleeve and isn't afraid to say or do whatever it takes to win. And as a result of that, he has picked up a decent amount of technical fouls over the years. But after he picked one up against the Knicks last Friday night, he tried offering up a different reason for why he's always getting T'd up.

"They hate me," he said, referring to the NBA's referees. "They hate me. I don't know why, but it is what it is. I already know I've got the target on my back, but I'll play through it; I don't care. I really don't. It doesn't bother me none. If I get a call, I get a call. If I don't, I don't. If I get a tech, hopefully it's not in the fourth quarter. Hopefully I don't get any more."

Hopefully he won't get any more. But one thing he did just receive is a $25,000 fine from the league. They didn't like the comments that he made about the zebras and, because of them, he's now out 25 grand.

We love the enthusiasm, Nate. But how about you take it down a notch or two? It might help you—and your bank account—stay out of trouble.
