The last time we heard any news about Lamar Odom, it looked like basketball was the absolute last thing on his mind. TMZreleased a video last month that featured him and one of his friends freestyling on camera, and both of them appeared to be under there influence of something pretty powerful. But as it turns out, Odom hasn't given up on the idea of making a return to the NBA just yet.

According to CBS Sports, who spoke with several league sources earlier this week, Odom just spent the last two weeks putting in work with trainer Rob McClanaghan—who has also trained Kevin Durant, Kevin Love, and Derrick Rose in the past—in order to get himself back into game shape. He's reportedly "not ready yet" in terms of playing in the NBA, according to one source, but he's getting there and could be ready to make a return to the league by mid-January.

That being said, is there an NBA team that wants him? The Clipperswere interested in him last month. But after everything that he's been through over the course of the last six months, he could end up being more of a headache than he's worth right now. If nothing else, though, at least he's trying. And at least he's making headlines for something other than, well, you know. Good for him.
