BMW Might Say "ME TOO!" and Release an Extra-Long-Wheelbase 7-Series

We all know that Mercedes is planning a new S-Class Pullman, which will fill the void left by the departure of the Maybach brand. We also all know that if one of the three German luxury brands makes a car, the other two will follow suit with a nearly identical car as soon as possible. If you think the 6-Series Gran Coupe and Audi A7 weren't inspired by the Mercedes-Benz CLS you're nuts.

That's why we're not surprised to report that BMW is considering an extra-long-wheelbase variant of the 7-Series when the new version debuts in 2016. Seeing as the Rolls-Royce Ghost is already a 7-Series that has been bumped up to Royce-spec, we have to wonder exactly how BMW would market this new variant.
