Madison Square Garden first opened all the way back in February 1968. But despite its age, MSG—or "The Garden" as it's often called—is still one of the best arenas in the country to catch a game or a concert. In fact, Rolling Stone just polled 26 industry executives and musicians and found that they still consider MSG to be the "coolest" arena in the United States.

"It is very exciting to have been named the 'coolest' venue in America by music industry insiders in Rolling Stone magazine," Melissa Ormond, the president of Madison Square Garden Entertainment, said recently. "The Garden is an iconic venue that hosted many of the most magical and defining moments in sports and entertainment history."

And it's going to continue to host tons and tons of events thanks to the $1 billion facelift that MSG has received over the course of the last three years. So we don't expect it to be any less "cool" in the coming years.
