We've heard a lot about new cars with the ability to park themselves, and like a lot of people we were instantly skeptical. The folks at The Fast Lane Car got their hands on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee and decided to test not only the perpendicular self-parking feature, but the parallel self-parking feature as well. 

Referred to as the "Parking Assistance Package" by Jeep, the feature uses a combination of the "ParkView Rear Back Up Camera and ParkSense Front and Rear Park Assist System and Rear Cross Path Detection" to help guide the vehicle into a space with little work from the driver (besides getting into position, shifting gears, and applying the brake/gas when needed). The system is impressive but, as TFL Car demonstrates, not always effective:
