Note to architects: making one side of a skyscraper a gigantic parabolic mirror might not be the best idea because of something that might best be referred to as a solar death ray.
Cars parked in three spots where the building known as the "Walkie-Talkie" has been focusing light have suffered some serious damage. One car's tyre (yes, that spelling is intentional...it's England) was seriously damaged while a Jaguar XJ owner's rear window was seriously warped. Parking at those spots has been suspended while the construction company figured out a fix and pays for the damage to people's property.
"The photographer asked me 'have you seen that car? The owner won't be happy.' I said: 'I am the owner. Crikey, that's awful.'"
