Needless to say, the Porsche 918 Spyder is a really, really impressive automobile. The $850,000 hybrid Porsche can hit 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, get all the way up to 211 mph, ad even return an estimated 71 mpg. Yes, we know it sounds like magic.
The only problem is that if you have a car that cool, more than one of your friends is going to want a ride. Porsche is considering the creation of a car that would be called the 984, which would be a stretched version of the 918 so it could accomodate an additional two seats while retaining the mid-engined layout. The engine's output would be slightly lower than the 918's at around 700 hp. The cost for this monster would be about half of the 918's, meaning that it would be around $425,000.
