Indiana State's Carlos Aviles Ejected From Tonight's Game After Delivering An Illegal Hit (GIF)

The targeting rule strikes again.

During tonight's game between Indiana State and Indiana, the Sycamores' Carlos Aviles laid out Shane Wynn as he attempted to retrieve a punt. Under college football's targeting rule, which basically punishes anyone who purposely targets a defenseless player, Aviles hit was deemed illegal and he was ejected. This is only the second time a player has been sent off since the rule was put in place.

Indiana got the better of Indiana State, winning 73-35.
