The Lakers have not announced when they expect Kobe Bryant to be back on the court for them next season. In fact, they haven't even announced whether or not he will actually play next season yet. His ability to recover from the torn Achilles that he suffered back in April is still TBD. But if you believe Chris Douglas-Roberts—who is playing for the Lakers summer league team right now—Kobe is definitely going to play next season. And he might be back a whole lot sooner than people are expecting.

"He told me he's three months ahead of schedule, which is very Kobe-like," Douglas-Roberts said last night after a game against the Clippers summer league team.

It certainly is very "Kobe-like." Then again, who's going to doubt him? We have seen Kobe do crazier things during the course of his career. So we won't be surprised at all if he manages to come back from his Achilles tear ahead of schedule.
