One of the things that comes to mind when you hear news headlines that read "Robert Kraft Says Vladimir Putin Stole His Super Bowl Ring" is the randomness. But it turns out the Patriots owner actually did pay the Russian president a visit after winning Super Bowl XXXIX. Also, Putin is apparently the type of dude who looks at a Super Bowl ring and goes, "‘I can kill someone with this ring." Who looks at the ring and thinks that?
Putin is apparently also the type of guy who would not steal a Super Bowl ring, according to Putin of course. Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir's spokesman, refuted on his behalf:

Also, Kraft says the White House told him to claim the ring was a gift to Russia to maintain positive relations when he demanded it back. Even the White House knew that ring belonged to Russia now.
