Detroit Electric Forced to Delay First Car Production

The sports car will be the world's fastest electric vehicle.

The future of electric cars has been delayed. Production for Detroit Electric's first car, the SP:01, has been pushed back for at least a month, according to Detroit News. In April the car company revived from the '30s debuted their electric sports car, which they asserted would be the fastest electric production vehicle in the world. The first of 999 cars to be made was slated to roll off in August, but problems securing a facility in North America caused a delay until September.

Hopefully, this will be the only trouble Detroit Electric faces. The fight to replace gas-guzzling cars with their electric counterparts is already difficult enough.
