Drifting started as a primarily Japanese sport but quickly rose in popularity all over the world. If you're at all interested in the sport, chances are good you know big names like Keiichi Tsuchiya, aka the Drift King and Ken Block, the Gymkhana master. You might also be familiar with drifting in pop culture, like the long-running manga and anime series Initial D.
But the homegrown Formula Drift series has risen up to make drifting a household word in the U.S. We recently had the opportunity to sit down with one of the sport's champions, who has not only won championships here but also internationally.
