This isn't his first run in with the law either.

It's always a shame when an athlete makes the news for a misdeed another relative has done, but just that happened to draft prospect Shabazz Muhammad. His father, Ron Holmes, was indicted on Thursday on federal bank fraud and conspiracy charges.

The indictment states that Holmes and his accomplices received “mortgage loans by fraudulent means to buy houses" between 2006-09. The U.S. attorney office is looking to get back $2.5 million from Holmes, who's being currently detained in Las Vegas pending a detention hearing.

This isn't Holmes' first run in with the law, as he's plead guilty to using fraudulent bank statements in order to obtain mortgages in 1999. The Muhammad family was also being investigated for suspicious financial dealings before Shabazz started playing for UCLA.
