Back in 2012, Junior dos Santos (who knocked out Mark Hunt in the final round last night in impressive fashion) lost the UFC heavyweight title to Cain Velasquez after Santos beat him for the title in 2011.
In retrospect, he believes he overtrained for the 2012 bout. His brown urine after the fight was a sign of that:
He wasn’t urinating blood, as some fighters do after a grueling match. Rather, the brown coloration of his urine was due to rhabdomyolysis. His muscle fiber was breaking down and getting into the blood steam.
Well, we won't be thinking about Guinness the same way for a while.
