The Lakers were struggling so badly that people were starting to question whether they were going to make the playoffs, but Kobe Bryant promised that his team would indeed make it. When he went down with his season-ending Achilles injury, the Lakers' road to the playoffs was essentially in his teammates' hands.
Well, the schedule says Los Angeles will be taking on the Spurs today, so that's a mission accomplished. Bryant congratulated his team for making the playoffs (or not making him and his promise look stupid, at least) by sending them laptops topped with the Black Mamba logo. Mamba Winfrey? Perhaps.
