French import Senizergues started his skating at the ripe age of 15, in his hometown just outside Paris. After a stint working as an engineer for IBM France, Senizergues headed to California, where he quickly turned pro. However, he continued to use his engineering background to design skate shoes for the then up-and-coming brand, etnies. In the early 1990s, Senizergues launched three brands of his own—éS, Emerica, and ThirtyTwo—and soon acquired etnies to add to the mix. He consolidated all four under the umbrella of Sole Technology, the world’s only biomechanical research firm dedicated to skateboarding, which he remains CEO of today. What's more, Senizergues is seriously committed to reducing his carbon footprint in substantial ways, both in his personal and professional lives.
