Google. Volvo, and Audi have both been working on autonomous cars, but for those who want them, they're still a long way off. However, researchers at Oxford University have designed a prototype of a new system called RobotCar. Right now, it costs $7,750, unlike the multi-million dollar systems from Google, Volvo, and Audi, and can theoretically eventually be made for $150.

The catch is that you can't just say to the car "take me to so strange new land", it has to learn a route by observing you drive it a few times. Once it feels confident, the car will tell you, via iPad, that it can take over. Would you be willing to part with a few hundred bucks to be able to sit back and relax during your commute?
