Dumb. Honestly, there's no other word to describe the recent actions of the Buccaneers' Da'Quan Bowers. On Monday morning, Bowers was arrested after a loaded .40-caliber gun was found in his bag at LaGuardia Airport. Meris Campbell, spokeswoman for the Queens District Attorney's office, said that the 22-year-old defensive lineman told airline employees about the Smith & Wesson firearm in his luggage at the check-in counter.
According to Campbell, Bowers will be charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon on the second degree, which just so happens to be the same charges Plaxico Burress faced in 2008. If he's found guilty, Da'Quan could receive a minimum of 3½ years in prison. Like we said, dumb.
