The Notre Dame football program has released a statement on their Facebook page addressing the news that just broke about Manti Te'o's fake girlfriend. They're talking about how they didn't know and that Manti is a victim of a hoax, yada, yada, yada. This story doesn't make a lot of sense. Why was Manti quoted in national papers talking about his sick girlfriend? And why did the university not stop all the good press they were getting surrounded around this myth?
