Sadly, J.R. Smith will not be firing up 35 shots at playing in the 2013 NBA All-Star Game. Although he missed out on being named an All-Star initially, he did get a second chance to make the team this week after Rajon Rondo went down with a season-ending ACL injury last weekend. But, his last-gasp effort fell short yesterday when Brook Lopez was selected to take Rondo's place on the team.

Naturally, J.R. was upset about not getting picked to join the Eastern Conference All-Stars. And, he let his frustrations show on Twitter last night when he apologized to fans for making them take part in an NBA.com poll that asked them to pick who they wanted to see replace Rondo:

Sorry for making all of u vote guess the 45k that I won by wasn't enough!

As it turns out, that poll didn't really have anything to do with who would be named as Rondo's replacement. So, sorry, J.R. fans. But, you'll have to wait until next year.
