Here's an invaluable tip for anyone planning to spend next New Year's Eve in France. Don't park your car on the streets, it might just get torched. For the first time in three years the Interior Minister, Manuel Valls, reported the exact figure, a total of 1,193 cars torched, of what has become a yearly tradition for young party-goers throughout the country. Former President Nicolas Sarkozy had stopped releasing these figures in past years in an effort to decrease crime, but to no avail, as the numbers seemed to have remained level.
