Motoring enthusiasts have waited 20 years for a new Alfa Romeo 105/115-series Spider. Phased out in 1994, the car represented the grand tradition of Italian rear-wheel drive convertibles. Good news, looks like the legacy will be renewed.

In partnership with Mazda, Fiat will resurrect the Alfa Romeo roadster as a Japanese-built two-seater. The base of the car, the lightweight MX-5 platform, will push a Mazda car as well. However, the Alfa and the Mazda final products will have distinct design and engines.
