How many sports scandals can we possibly fit into a single month?! Already, we've been hit with scandals involving Lance Armstrong, Manti Te'o, and Ray Lewis during the first month of 2013. And now, we've got one more to deal with before we move onto February.

Earlier today, the New York Post dropped a bombshell on the sports world when they revealed that Dan Marino—who is set to be a part of CBS's "Super Bowl Today" show on Sunday afternoon—has a secret. That secret? That the former NFL great, who has been married for 28 years now, fathered a love child back in 2005 with a woman named Donna Savattere. At the time, Savattere was working as a production assistant for CBS and, according to the Post, Marino paid her millions of dollars after she got pregnant with his child in order to keep the news about the baby under wraps.

"They had an affair, and she had a baby," a source said. "Everything was on the down-low and secretive."

But now, the secret is out. When the Post reached out to Marino yesterday, which just so happened to be his 28th wedding anniversary, he came clean.

"This is a personal and private matter," he said in a written statement. "I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then. We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved."

Marino also said that, in spite of the affair, he is still married to his wife Claire.

"My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together," he wrote. "And we continue to be a strong and loving family."
