Every time we think Adrian Peterson can't get anymore awesome as a player, he goes and does something like this.

Yesterday, the Vikings special teams coordinator Mike Priefer came out and revealed that Peterson constantly badgers him about playing on special teams. In fact, Priefer says that AP has asked him about it so often that he's tried to get Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier to sign off on allowing him to do it.

"He always asks," Priefer said. "He's a football player. Gunner, field goal block, returner. The guy is awesome. I always say yes, and then I ask the head coach and he says no. I know what the answer is going to be. I don't even have to ask."

Peterson was then asked about his desire to play special teams. And, he confirmed that he'd love to be involved with kickoff returns and field goal blocks.

"For the past two years, I've been trying to get in on a field goal block," he said. "Come in off the edge, you know? It's just going to take one block for them to really be like, 'OK, you know what? Let's take the chance and let you go out there and get it done.' Kickoff return, I wouldn't mind getting back there. I'm in it to win."

Wow. We kinda understand the kickoff return angle, because AP clearly loves to run the ball. But, field goal blocks?! This guy is really amazing. And, these comments show why he definitely deserves the MVP award this year. Peyton Manning is great and all. But, AP has been legendary this season.
