Current Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon recently received an armored, stretch version of the Hyundai Equus luxury sedan from the Korean motor company. Weighing in at nearly 9,000 pounds and using the same V-8 engine used in the standard Equus, the car  receives a rating of VR7 which means it can withstand rounds from assault rifles up to 7.62x51 in caliber. The company has not yet made any indication as to whether they will continue producing armored vehicles or if this was just a one-off opportunity.
