While Speed Racer may be a bit before our time, it's one of those cartoons that was so awesome as to remain relevant for generations, kind of like how kids love Transformers to this day. The Mach 5, much like the Batmobile, is simply one of the coolest rides that never actually existed, that is until now. Upon his son's suggestion, Len Mosco started doing research on what it would take to build a real life Mach 5, meeting Mark Towle, the only man to have ever designed an actual working model of the ride. The Real Mach 5 is now complete, and Jalopnik's Douglas Sonders got a chance to ride it, check it out in the video below:
