Right now, the Tesla Model S costs $49,900 after the buyer gets his or her $7,500 tax credit for buying an electric vehicle. Tesla has announced that this is not going to be the price for long. The customers who have already ordered their cars will not be required to pay any more, nor will those who have deferred their reservations if the payments are received before the deadline.
In addition to the car getting an undetermined price hike at an undetermined date in the next few weeks, some undetermined standard features will become options soon.
