In Chinese, the word "bao" means bulge. Which is why the designers of Chinese studio dot Architects named their latest project the "Bao House," a tricycle-powered mobile home made out of spray polyurethane foam (SPF) which provides a bubble-like surface for the exterior of this mobile home project. Water-resistant and thermally insulated, SPF is a material not normally used as an exterior surface. Presented as a human-powered mobile living space for Get It Louder 2012, a visual art and design exhibition held at the Sanlitun Village shopping centre in Beijing.
