Checking a bag can be an easily avoidable hassle. All you need to do is pick one pair of shoes that will work for any excursion and you're pretty much done, unless you're travelling to the LA Auto Show with an engine; you'll probably need to check that. There's now an exception to this rule so obvious that it has probably never been stated before, and it's Ford's new (to the USA) 1.0L EcoBoost three-cylinder.
The engine makes a healthy 123hp, and will soon be found in Ford's compacts on our side of the Atlantic.
