In Belvidere, Illinois, they celebrate homegrown talent. The city has been home to a Chrysler facility—employing 4500 local residents—for some time, and police chief Jan Noble decided it was only right to honor them with the newest vehicle in the fleet.

To do it, Noble had to go against the grain. The department rolls in Dodge Charger Pursuit cruisers, which are not made locally. So, rather than ignore the nearby plant, Noble asked for a Dodge Dart. Locally made and badged, the newest fleet car now serves as a non-patrol vehicle and gets the nod on days that require ceremonial rides.

Got to be thankful for those that honor hardworking local business.
