Forget seeing a brutal hit in hockey or witnessing someone get jacked up on the football field, an athlete taking a volleyball spike to the face ranks pretty high up there on the list of events in sports that are just too painful to watch. That is exactly what happened when a Winfield-Mount Union player took one to the grill, but in a shocking turn of events, the ball ricocheted into the crowd where it played the role of a nutritionist and tripped up a kid who was hauling ass to the concessions stand.
Then, while the girl is in obvious pain on the ground, the crowd starts chanting "Facial!" Way to go, fans. Keep it classy. You know we, uh, always do.
