Ecclestone is Ditching the F1 Turbo V6 Plans Because He Thinks V8s Sound Cooler

Formula 1 has been planning a switch to turbocharged V6 engines from the current naturally aspirated V8s for ecological reasons for over a year now. Supreme racing overlord Bernie Ecclestone looks like he's going to pull the plug on the whole program not because it will cost teams a fortune to develop new engines, but because he doesn't like the way they sound. 

We think that the early '90s were the last time F1 cars sounded good anyway. Adding turbo whine to F1's current engine note, which sounds like a berserk, demonic, handheld vacuum, would indeed be unbearable.
