The Great Miami River Days took a horrible turn this past weekend when veteran drag boat racer Jeff Miller lost control and crashed at approximately 175 mph. The frightening accident was caught on tape, showing Miller possibly hitting a log, causing him to go into a fury of flips onto the shore. Lucky for him, the safety capsule did exactly its job when it detached from the boat, leaving him with a concussion, a broken leg, and some short-term memory loss. The crash was the first major accident of Miller's 15-20-year racing experience and only the third of president of the Kentucky Drag Boat Association Roger Austin's 30-year-career.
