Students at San Jose State University have been working on a motorcycle with spherical wheels. The promise is that it will make for a more maneuverable and safer bike. More maneuverable, because the bike could move in any direction or even spin on the spot, and safer because there is no danger of hitting an object which could turn the front wheel suddenly.

While we think it's cool, we can see some big problems already: it has no suspension, so I couldn't take even the tiniest bump, it has no tread, so it couldn't take even a little rain, and the tires will no doubt wear unevenly as soon as it spends any time whatsoever going in a straight line.

We're just happy that SJSU is making everyone's Batman/I, Robot dreams come true though.
