There have been some huge recalls in the past few months. First Chevy recalled 475,000 Cruzes due a fire hazard, then Ford recalled almost 500,000 Escapes because of a sticky gas pedal. Hyundai is the most recent guilty company, recalling 199,118 2006-2008 Santa Fes to fix a faulty airbag sensor and 22,512 2012 Sonatas to reprogram side curtain airbags. We're starting to think the inspectors at car companies are about as thorough as the editors over at Bleacher Report.
