The results of yesterday's Soccer Aid 2012 game are in: UNICEF 1, Celebrities 0.

During the charity match that was played Sunday at Manchester United's Old Trafford, not one, but two major celebrities went down with injuries and had to leave the field. First, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay went down after being tackled hard by former Man U striker Teddy Sheringham midway through the second half. He had to be given oxygen on the pitch, carted off on a stretcher, and taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Then, later in the match, Will Ferrell went down with a leg injury and had to leave the game. And, to make matters worse, the "Rest of the World" team that Ramsay and Ferrell played for ended up losing 3-1 to a team that consisted of UK celebrities and former English international players.

The good news, though: Soccer Aid 2012 managed to raise almost $6.5 million for UNICEF, so it's not like Ramsay and Ferrell went down for nothing. Way to take one for the team, fellas.
