A.I. was the NBA in the '00s. He ushered in an era of cornrows, tattoos and not giving a fuck. He said fuck practice, fuck a suit (we're convinced the league instituted the dress code because of him) and fuck a position. Standing at a generous 6'0", Iverson was thought to be a point guard because of his small stature. It wasn't until Larry Brown smartened up and moved him to the two that Allen truly became "The Answer."

The little guy with a big heart carried the 76ers to the Finals in 2001 and continued to defy physics throughout his career. A.I. was one of the fastest and toughest around the town in his heyday. No one wanted parts of that crossover, not even the greatest. He was clutch, he took it to the rim furiously, he basically could not be stopped. After all that he gave to this game, the God deserves to come back to the L and go out like the G he is.
