Joe Namath Thinks the Jets Are Too Dysfunctional to Sign Peyton Manning

He doesn't even think they should try.

Jets fans might really want Rex Ryan & Co. to sign Peyton Manning to the team. But there's at least one Jets legend who doesn't think that's such a good idea. In fact, Joe Namath thinks it'd be completely counterproductive to sign No. 18 to a deal, seeing as though they can't even get the players that they have on the team now on the same page.

"The Jets have to get things together on their own turf before someone with his background would be interested in coming," he said yesterday.

You hear that Mark Sanchez? And Santonio Holmes? And Rexy? And anonymous-player-in-the-locker-room-who-made-all-those-crazy-statements-about-the-team-after-the-season-ended? Get. Your. Shit. Together. And then you can talk about inviting guys like Peyton Manning into the mix. Until then, stay away.
