Three Teams Changed Their Names
The livery may look the same, but the car pictured above is no longer running under the Lotus banner. After a spat of controversy over the Lotus name, airline magnate Tony Fernandes purchased ailing British auto nameplate Caterham Cars and renamed his outfit Caterham F1. The Lotus F1 name is now being used by the once-glorious Renault team. And after a disastrous 2011 season, Marussia Virgin, Richard Branson's team which is now controlled by Russia's Marussia Motors, has changed its name outright to Marussia F1. Unfortunately, none of those name changes will do anything to help their positions in the standings.
