Tiger Woods had to make a decision. He could play the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, where he has won six times over his career, or he could travel to Abu Dhabi to play the HSBC Golf Championship. To him, the choice was pretty obvious: HSBC by a large margin. Why? Because he is getting paid between $1.7 and $2.7 million to play make an appearance at that tournament. He wouldn't give the exact number, but the total allocation for appearance fees is $5 million, meaning he's raking in about half of the pool. Although it might seem insane, the guaranteed attention he provides is unquestionable. #worthit?
