Joe Paterno and his battle against lung cancer has taken a turn for the worse. "Over the last few days Joe Paterno has experienced further health complications," a family spokesman for Paterno said on Saturday. "His doctors have now characterized his status as serious. His family will have no comment on the situation and asks that their privacy be respected during this difficult time."
According to The Citizens' Voice, a source has informed the newspaper on Saturday that the Paterno family has asked close friends and former members of his staff to visit the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College where Paterno has been actively undergoing cancer treatment.
