Brock Lesnar assured his wife and kids that if he lost to Alistair Overeem in UFC 141, he would announce his retirement from Mixed Martial Arts. As promised, following his defeat in round 1 at the hands of Overeem, Lesnar announced to the crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena that he would not step foot in the Octagon ever again. After a long, grueling bout with a serious case of diverticulitis, Brock made the right choice in valuing his long-term health over his short-term career. He will end his time in the UFC with a 5-3 record.
