Vanishing Point (1971)
Car: 1970 Dodge Challenger
The Mopar man's most closely cherished movie, Vanishing Point is probably responsible for a healthy portion of Dodge's Challenger sales. Nothing made this already incredible instrument of speed look cooler than Barry Newman, smiling as he throttles to his death at the close of the movie. As the film's director has explained, Newman's character was meant to be portrayed as "other-worldy," only making a stop in the temporary existence of the film. The hand-drawn movie poster (you may have noticed that the art of hand-drawn movie posters is sorely missed around these parts) effectively represents this supposed existentialist theme, depicting the Challenger coming through a swirl of the film's characters in action.
