Jaguar's C-X16 Concept is Very, Very Sexy

...and it's kinda E-type-ish. Mmmmmmm... E-type.

This is the new Jag concept that's coming to Frankfurt. It's simply stunning. It's reminiscent of the E-type without being retro, and up to date without being trendy. The front looks like what the SLS AMG's front should have looked like, the profile is pure classic Jag, and the rear is sporty and modern. Design-wise, this car is damn near perfect...so it had better have the power to back it up.

Jaguar has mated a 3.0l supercharged V6 producing the power of 375 horses with an electric motor putting out 94 horses (because every concept car must be a hybrid). It apparently has an EV mode, but it would be pretty stupid to buy a Jag and do 0-60 in 6.7 years, so we'll just ignore that. In "real car" mode, it will go from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and still return a healthy 41 mpg. The best part about the hybridization is that the C-X16 has a KERS-like push-to-pass button, which activates the electric motor and gives you a surge of oomph.

Pricing has it glaring at the Porsche Cayman S.
