Hey, golf commentators: Don't talk shit to Rory McIlroy. That's the lesson the 22-year-old golfer tried to teach on Thursday when he got into a Twitter spat with Golf Channel commentator Jay Townsend during the Irish Open. After the first round, Townsend sent out several tweets about McIlroy's mismanagement of the course. "McIlroy's course management was shocking," he tweeted before taking a shot at McIlroy's caddie JP Fitzgerald. "@mcilroyrory should hire Stevie Williams, as I thought JP allowed some SHOCKING course management today."
McIlroy took offense to his comments and responded by completely ethering dude. "Shut up," McIlroy tweeted. "You're a commentator and a failed golfer, your opinion means nothing!"
