Even to non-car types, the Bonneville Salt Flats are synonymous with automotive land-speed records. But few know the rich history behind one of the world's most famous test sites. The Boys of Bonneville: Racing on a Ribbon of Saltwill attempt to change that by bringing to light the lost legacy of Ab Jenkins and son Marv. The father/son duo, who are credited for first putting the salt flats on the map, are chronicled in the film, as they build and rebuild their most famous record-breaker, The Mormon Meteor.

The trailer seems captivating enough to hold the attention of those less interested in cars, but to add credibility, actor/racer Patrick Dempsey has lent his voice to the lead character, with Jay Leno also joining forces to tell the not-so-known story.
